My name is Marykate, Mk for short. I write angsty romance full of heat and heart.

Born and raised in Philly, PA, I live with my husband Tim and twin toddlers.
I fell in love with romance in high school.
I was the weird teenager that didn’t mind being grounded- it meant I could dig into my stash of books and inhale all of the love stories. Eventually I found stories of my own I wanted to tell.
What began as a little note typed into my phone, grew into two full manuscripts with more still to come.

Writing has brought me so much joy.
It began as a therapy to help manage the curveballs life and motherhood threw my way. At times when everything was in flux, I could escape into my stories.
Building characters and cities from the ground up… giving my little world a heartbeat… embracing my creativity...
It has lit a match inside me.
Aside from the act of simply writing a book, this writer’s journey has opened my world in ways I’ve never expected. I learned I’m brave and that I can adapt to unforeseen challenges. Most importantly, I’ve met some wonderful people in the book & writing community who have given me the tools and encouragement to take me to the stars.
When I’m not chasing my kids around, or making enough pasta to feed an army. I can be found day dreaming about my next story (sometimes with a glass of wine on the kitchen floor.)
